Atlanta, GA — July 19, 2026 — As the FIFA World Cup comes to a close, Atlanta will unite for a powerful day of service, awareness, and community impact. The Showcase Atlanta Volunteer Day of Service, powered by UPS and The UPS Foundation, will take place at Piedmont Park on Sunday, July 19, in conjunction with One Music Fest.
This impactful day will bring together volunteers, community leaders, and organizations
committed to supporting survivors and raising awareness about human trafficking. The initiative highlights Atlanta’s leadership in mobilizing public-private partnerships to protect vulnerable populations during major global events.
Volunteers from across the region—including members of the Atlanta Task Force, corporate partners, and community organizations—are encouraged to participate in hands-on service projects designed to support survivors and strengthen prevention efforts.
The day will conclude with a Candlelight Vigil to Shine a Light on Human Trafficking,
beginning at 7:30 PM at Piedmont Park. The vigil is hosted by Rotary International, UPS, and the City of Atlanta, and will serve as a moment of reflection, unity, and commitment to ending human trafficking.
Dave McCleary, Chair of the event and Global Chair of the Rotary Action Group Against
Slavery, stated:
“This will be a powerful moment for our community to stand together and show that human trafficking will not be tolerated in our city. As the world has gathered in Atlanta, we are sending a clear message—this will not happen here.”
This “Power Day” reflects a broader commitment by Atlanta leaders and global partners to ensure that the legacy of the World Cup includes meaningful action, awareness, and lasting impact in the fight against human trafficking.
